Elena receives a letter requesting that she meet with the university's disciplinary committee to discuss her relationship with professor McGrath during freshman year. One of his former students filed a complaint and his assistant gave a list of names of young women she thought he might have been involved with. Elena's name appeared on that list. The young woman is charging McGrath with sexual harassment. She claims the high grade she received in his class was because of her relationship with him. At first Elena feels her situation with McGrath was different because she initiated the relationship. Later, after talking with the other student, she realizes that McGrath told her the same lies about his ex-wife being sick and how lonely he was. According to the other girl, his ex-wife was never sick. Things that he said and did made each girl feel as though she was the one who initiated the relationship and that she was the one in control. Elena starts doubting herself and attributes her academic success and even her meeting Tracy with the grade she received in Dr. McGrath's class. She initially had a 'B-', but then he later changed her grade to an 'A' and she never objected. She says that she wouldn't have gotten into several classes had it not been for the 'A' she received in McGrath's class. Felicity is worried about Elena - the situation with McGrath along with her break-up with Tracey is a lot for her to deal with. Felicity goes to Tracey and asks him to talk to Elena. Tracey says he misses her and would like to help, but he doesn't want to talk to her. Felicity explains that she knows what's going on between them. Tracey tells Felicity there isn't anything going on between them. Felicity tells him Elena needs him now. Later, Tracy talks to Elena and tells her that she's the smartest person he knows and she deserves the academic success she's had. He reminds her that smart people sometimes do stupid things. With regard to their relationship, he tells her that he's a man of faith, and he's working on forgiving her for cheating on him. Elena visits the Dean and tells him that she wants to take the class over again. He tells her she doesn't have to - it would cause her other grades to suffer with such a heavy course load. Elena says she doesn't care - she has to do it for herself.
Molly's boyfriend James has lost his apartment. Molly tells Felicity that the landlord raised the rent, so he can no longer afford it. Felicity finds it strange that Molly has been dating someone for nearly 2 months since she's been living in the apartment and has never once mentioned her boyfriend. Felicity has no idea that James is a drug addict and agrees to let James stay with them for a while. Molly reveals at the Al-Anon meeting that she and James have been using cocaine. James has moved on to smoking crack.Ben offers to help Molly by going to the clinic with her. He agrees to go with her for her next session. One day when no one else is home James starts to smoke and tells Molly to smoke with him. She does. Later, he tells her she needs a haircut. She tells him she doesn't want to cut her hair. James insists she needs one and chops her hair off to a length just below the ears with no resistance from Molly. Meanwhile, Ben waits for hours at the clinic for Molly, but she never shows up. Later, Felicity finds hair all over the bathroom and tells Ben it's weird that she didn't even clean it up. Ben feels he's struggled long enough with whether or not to reveal Molly's secrets to Felicity. He tells her he doesn't feel comfortable with James staying in the apartment and tells Felicity the entire story. He apologizes for not telling her sooner. Felicity doesn't feel comfortable with James living in the apartment. They accidentally find out that James owns a gun. Ben moves some of James' things off the bed when the gun falls out of a bag. Felicity and Ben wait up late for Molly to return home. Molly tells them James has returned to his apartment to get the rest of his stuff and he'll be returning later. Ben tells her James can't stay there. Molly argues that the apartment isn't his to decide who can stay. Ben tells her that Felicity knows everything. Molly is angry that Ben divulged the things she told him in secret as well as the things she revealed at the Al-Anon meetings. He and Felicity want her to get help. She promises things will be better in the morning. Ben knows the story all too well, since he's had to deal with his father's empty promises. Ben tells Molly she can't stay if she doesn't get help. Molly asks Felicity if that's what she wants. Felicity tells Molly she wants her to get help. Molly doesn't think she's the one who has a problem. She storms out of the apartment.
Meghan runs into some of her club-kid friends. They tell her she's changed - she never hangs out with them anymore and she's become boring since she's been dating Sean. She goes to the loft and finds Sean making oatmeal. She tells him their lives are boring and she wants to go out and do things. Sean tells her they can add some cinnamon and raisins to the oatmeal. She tells him that she's serious. Sean thinks things are just fine the way they are. Meghan tells him she's changed and worked hard for them to be together, but he hasn't done anything. She tells him she's sick of it. Sean reminds her that he lost a testicle. She tells him that ball can only get him so far. Meghan goes hangs out all night and returns the following morning with her friend Earl. Sean can't believe she stayed out all night and kicks Earl out. Meghan wants to go to the fetish ball. She tells him she had a blast last year. Sean reminds her that his religion comes first so he can't go. Meghan goes to the fetish ball alone dressed as a pregnant woman. She has a horrible time without Sean. She returns to the loft, but he isn't there. Sean returns home dressed in his fetish ball gear. He tells her that he went there looking for her. Meghan thinks it was sweet of him to get dressed up to go and party with her. Noel can't stop laughing at Sean's outfit.
Noel is trying to sell an idea for a cartoon about a farm boy to the internet site The Icebox. He shows his idea to Felicity. She thinks his drawings need some help, so she gives him some assistance making the character more human. While working on the project she comes up with an idea for a cartoon that would be called Loser Pet Store. She explains it would basically be about the animals that no one ever buys - the loser pets. She shows him some sketches. He thinks her idea is great. The Icebox loves it. Noel asks Felicity to continue working on the cartoon with him.
