Michael and Tess go to the hospital where Lori is being treated. According to the blood work and x-rays, she's human. Michael says it's impossible. He wonders why Isabel had a flash when she touched Lori. Michael wants to go to Lori's room and check her out. Tess says they got the information Max wanted, so they should just leave. When they get to her room they find her bed empty. Michael goes to the site where Lori was buried in Frazier Woods. He contacts Valenti after finding a strange blue substance in the dirt. Valenti goes out and collects the substance. He warns Michael not to return to the site because the FBI is now working on the case. Sheriff Valenti returns home to find Lori hiding in his closet. She asks him to stop looking for her. Valenti tells her she needs to see a doctor. She doesn't trust people at the hospital. She figures since Valenti found her - he's surely not working for her kidnappers. Valenti asks what her kidnapper looks like. Lori tells Valenti it wasn't a man - it was 'them' - they're not from here. Valenti gets a call from the FBI - they need his assistance. Valenti calls Isabel to come over and stay with Lori.
Alex returns from his month-long trip to Stockholm,Sweden. Maria and Liz are excited to have him back. They invite Isabel over to view slides from Alex's trip. Sheriff Valenti calls and Isabel has to leave. Maria's cousin Sean stops by and asks Liz out on a date. She declines and explains that she and Max are involved - not romantically at the moment - they're friends plus. She tells him it's complicated. Alex, Maria and Liz view the slides. Included are some photos of Alex and a girl he met while in Sweden, Lienne. He tells Liz they have a long distance thing going on. He tells Liz that lusting after Isabel is something the old Alex would have done. He has a new outlook. He asks Liz what's up with her and Sean Deluca. Alex says he thought he saw a twinkle when he saw them together. Liz tells him there's no twinkle. Alex has amazing photographs from his trip. He tells Liz she really has to travel - she missing out on some amazing things. Liz says she will someday when there's not so much going on.
At Sheriff Valenti's house, Lori tells Isabel her kidnappers stuck her with needles and put stuff inside of her. She tries to show Isabel marks on her arm from the needles. Isabel tells her she doesn't see anything. Lori tells her it's there - she's not crazy. She says she was put into a mental hospital, but she doesn't belong there. There's a knock at the door. Isabel tells Lori to go to the bedroom until she tells her it's safe to come out. It's Max and Michael. Isabel tells Lori she can come out of the bedroom. She reminds Lori that Max was there the night they rescued her. Lori gasps when she sees Michael. She warns him to stay away from her. She yells that he's dead. She slams the bedroom door shut. Isabel bangs on the door and begs Lori to open it. Michael uses his powers to knock the door down. It's too late. Lori has escaped through the window. Isabel calls Valenti and tells him Lori ran out. She runs screaming for someone to help her. Michael catches up with her and grabs her. He tells her that he's not going to hurt her. She struggles and breaks free, runs into the street and is hit by a car. The driver gets out and asks if she's okay. She begs him to help her. She tells him the enemies are coming. A crowd gathers around, police cars, the FBI and Valenti arrive. Lori points at Valenti and tells the FBI agent that the aliens came to Valenti's house. She says Valenti held her there so the aliens could come and get her. Valenti yells out 'People walk away now.' It appeared that the message was for all onlookers, but it was really meant for Max, Isabel and Michael. They leave the scene. Valenti tells the FBI agent that Lori doesn't know what she's talking about. Lori gives Valenti's address along with a detailed description of his house and the furniture inside. She tells the agent she was hiding in Valenti's house and he'd told her that he'd protect her. Lori says the aliens are Valenti's friends.
The FBI agent tells Valenti that he hindered an investigation and that he'll lose his job. He tells the agent that it may not look like it now, but he is one of the good guys.
At school, Liz asks Max if he'd like to see the world. Max says he'd like to, but he can't. He tells her she should get to see the world. He doesn't want to hold her back. He says everyone they touch gets hurt one way or another. He doesn't want her to realize five years from now that she missed out on things. He tells her she's a part of the group now and always. He tells her she needs to be allowed to grow. They hug. She asks why he can't come with her. He tells her no matter where she goes, he'll be there when she returns.
Liz, Max,Isable,Michael,Tess, Maria and Kyle meet at the crashdown to discuss Sheriff Valenti. He's been fired. Kyle reminds everyone that he and his father have put up with their crap for the last year. He asks Max to stay away from his family and to promise that this is the last time they're going to put themselves on the line for them. Max says he can't promise.
Max, Michael and Isabel look at the blue substance found out in the woods under a microscope. Max says it's like the substance is pulsating.
Tess apologizes to Kyle for overstaying her welcome. She tells him she's packed her things and she'll be gone after school. Kyle says he doesn't want her to leave - she's the only good thing about having an alien in his life.
Michael and Isabel visit the Pinecrest Psychiatric Hospital where Lori had been. They search through her files and belongings
They find photographs including one labeled 'Grandpa 1935' Isabel says the guy in the photo looks exactly like Michael. Michael says 'It is me.'
